Ghana Praise Festival, Accra Sports Stadium 5th October 2013.
Gospel sensation Joyous Celebration recently gave an outstanding performance in Accra (Ghana), their signature sound backed by LAX ATEC & OP series professional sound systems. The concert was part of the Ghana Praise Festival held at the Accra Sports Stadium, where over 8,000 fans converged to revel in the sounds of some of the biggest acts in the industry. The South African group headlined the festival, sharing the stage with two renowned names in Ghanaian gospel music, Joyful Way Incorporated and DSP Kofi Sarpong.
Led by sound engineer/owner Sami Helwani, the ProGear team deployed 8 large-format LAX AT3212-V2 and 16 medium-format OP3228L line arrays for the main system in a typical left-right + down hang set-up with four AT3212-V2 and eight OP3228L cabinets flown on opposite sides of the stage. 24 medium-format OP3208L line arrays were utilized for out fills, 12 cabinets flown per hang in a left-right formation to provide outstanding coverage throughout the venue. The line array tops were matched with 4 LAX AT218B and 16 RCF S8028 subwoofers for low frequency support; these powerful units were ground stacked in pairs in front of the stage. Front fill was handled by systems from the LAX OP Series line, specifically eight OP3228L. Monitor duties were handled by an army of eight M2112 (12") and eight CK10 (10") LAX stage monitors, eight JBL MPro415 were also used to support the monitor wedges. For side fills ProGear deployed six OP3208L line array cabinets in a three per side formation.
Both Joyous Celebration and opening acts Joyful Way Incorporated and DSP Kofi Sarpong took full advantage of the powerful LAX systems to bring the sound to the Accra Sports Stadium and fans were able to enjoy an unforgettable evening of the gospel group's full repertoire. Overall the Joyous Celebration's production/technical team was of high praise and surprise of the technical production delivered by Iconic Consult as well as the competence and great sound provided by ProGear with the LAX system.
